CONTEXT

CONTEXT

WeRadiate sensors provide soil health metrics to composting facilities.

WeRadiate sensors provide soil health data to industrial composting facilities across North America. Their core product is a Dashboard.

The core product is a dashboard that gives a live view of their compost pile with dual temperature readings

PROBLEMS WITH THE EXISTING DASHBOARD

PROBLEMS WITH THE EXISTING DASHBOARD

Outdated visual system

Lack of design system - No visual hierarchy, inconsistencies, understanding was poor

Critical data was buried

The information operators actually needed was hidden 3 layers deep

creating a problem that was costing them: reduced soil health and a measurable drop in operational efficiency.

IDENTIFYING THE BOTTELNECK

We were showing data, but not helping operators act on it

We were showing data, but not helping operators act on it

There was no intervention support, no suggestions for improvement — just data.

THE APPROACH

THE APPROACH

Reframing the dashboard from a passive data collection platform into an insight-driven management tool

Reframing the dashboard from a passive data collection platform into an insight-driven management tool

To reduce the gap between knowing compost conditions and taking the right action at the right time

→ Highlighting the optimal temperature range for quick assessment

→ Introduced tones of blue for temperature lines to reduce color confusion

→ Added Daily, Weekly, and Monthly segment control for easier comparison
